Here are some tips on how to use this website to find great summer experiences for kids of all ages.
Search the KidsPriorityOne Database.
1. Enter "camps" as a keyword
2. Click on your locality;
3. Click SEARCH.
Here's a glance at what you'll find...
- Single to multi-day camps that are fun and educational - such as Virginia Air & Space Center, Virginia Children's Museum and Young Chef's Academy.
- Weekday programs--Monday through Friday, that run from 1 to 10 weeks - such as Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Virginia and Boys and Girls Clubs of Va. Peninsula, YMCA of South Hampton Roads, and Peninsula Metropolitan YMCA. Also Girls, Inc of Southwestern Hampton Roads, and many more
- Overnight opportunities for older kids
- Camps for children with disabilities, such as Children with Diabetes Camps, Cerebral Palsy of Virginia, Camp Gonnawannagoagain (for children and teens with autism), and others

Few camps are free, but many offer scholarships or sliding scale fees, and discounts for families with multiple children.
- Some organizations provide summer camp scholarships as part of their charitable giving, such as Bertha Snyder Children's Care Fund, call 757-852-9797 (no website).
- Union Mission has a free summer camp for those who apply, on a first come, first serve basis.
