www.KidsPriorityOne.org is a "One Stop" Internet Resource Center where families, and those working with families, turn to find local resources. KidsPriorityOne heightens public awareness and actively disseminates information from a single source. In the past two years, more than 75,000 times, parents, teens, teachers and other human services professionals visited www.KidsPriorityOne.org for valuable resources and helpful information.

KidsPriorityOne is a free Information & Referral service, and is available by calling the Information Line at 757-CHILDREN (757-244-5373) during regular business hours, Monday through Friday. After hours and on weekends, 1-800-CHILDREN (1-800-244-5373) will be glad to assist you. Check out the new Community Calendar for educational and family fun events and classes for children and adults.

The web site hosts information on more than 4,000 local programs, direct links to many public and nonprofit's serving children and families, and links to thousands more national resources- addressing everything from the importance of early childhood education, to teen leadership, disability resources, services for military families, emergency services, employment support, positive parenting and so much more! HISTORY: KidsPriorityOne was launched in 2003 by the Kiwanis Children's Council of Hampton Roads as a collaborative effort with local service providers. Initial funding was secured from the Virginia Department of Social Services, The Norfolk Foundation and the Beazley Foundation, along with support from local Kiwanis Clubs, their members and other organizations and individual donations.

NOW A PROGRAM of the YMCA of South Hampton Roads: KidsPriorityOne became a part of the YMCA of South Hampton Roads in 2007 in cooperation with the Peninsula Metropolitan YMCA. The program continues to serve the Southside and Peninsula. With the regional YMCAs serving more than 200,000 children and adults, the reach of this valuable resource is sure to spread!
