Welcome to KidsPriorityOne!

www.KidsPriorityOne.org is a "One Stop" Resource Center where families, and those working with families, find local resources and valuable information related to raising healthy, happy kids!  Each month, thousands of parents, teens, teachers and other human services professionals visit our website.

This free Information & Referral Service, is also available by calling the Information Line at 757-CHILDREN (757-244-5373) during regular business hours, Monday through Friday. After hours and on weekends, 1-800-CHILDREN (1-800-244-5373) will be glad to assist you.

The website hosts a database of more than 1,000 organizations serving children and families across Hampton Roads--Southside and Peninsula. You'll find services for all ages of children, youth and their parents; those with disabilities and other special needs; families with basic and emergency needs, youth development, parenting support, and much more.  Our stats show that more than 10,000 households access our website each year. Website hits were nearly 40,000 in 2011, and approximately 750 children were helped through the Information Line.

KidsPriorityOne was launched in 2003 by the Kiwanis Children's Council of Hampton Roads as a collaborative effort with local service providers. Initial funding was secured from the Virginia Department of Social Services, The Norfolk Foundation and the Beazley Foundation, along with support from local Kiwanis Clubs, their members, and other contributors. Thank you!

In 2007, KidsPriorityOne became a program of the YMCA of South Hampton Roads, in partnership with the Kiwanis Children's Council. The program continues to serve the Southside and Peninsula. Like the other programs of the YMCA's Community Services Branch, KidsPriorityOne is committed to community outreach. If you would like a KPO representative to visit your organization, host your organization's information in our database, or provide our program information for the children and families you serve, please send us an e-mail or call.

The YMCA and Kiwanis International are two of the largest and longest standing service organizations in the world.
